Please read the ‘About‘ section first. There has been a gratifying response to the original request. I wasn’t expecting to get many compared to amount that responded to the appeal for images of infants. Over a two or so weeks people have gradually seen my request and some have submitted one or two pictures.
Since the publishing of the montages yesterday on Facebook one or two more folk have seen the results and are keen to contribute. Some who have already sent in one or two pictures are now considering sending in less complimentary views of themselves, which is very brave, to help illustrate some of the issues faced by those of us afflicted by Mito.
This made me realise that whilst the number of people responding positively would be low, it takes a while for folk to see the actual request at all amidst all the day-to-day wheat and chaff that occurs on Facebook. Once a video had appeared that generated a little more interest.
I would now like to build on this, and since Jean Shepherd prodded me to publicise it on one of our Yahoo! mailing lists, it seems provident to create this site.
I am seeking more content – pictures and video clips to create richer stories. There will be some short clips such as I’ve posted so far but there will be longer, more informative movies, with messages and stories that I hope will raise awareness but also provide hope and a feeling of connection to those of us who do know.
Ideas, comments etc gratefully received, and ultimately other people to contribute content. I hope this site will also publish personal stories published by individuals here, when I set up the membership side. That’s enough, I’m waffling and it’s early morning here in the UK. Thank you for visiting.

For something that was thrown together, I found this site very easy to get around and for me … the easier the better. It is so good to see something up here for adults as I sometimes wonder if we too are invisible considering how much effort people put in for children … we adults suffer just as much or maybe more because we know whats coming and it’s not good.
Good job too on the videos look forward to more content and the sharing of our stories.
Also if there is anything I can do to help with any thing Rowley please let me know and if I can I will.
This is the first time I have looked at this site, I must say that I like it, it is so easy to get around. To have a site for adults is good this way the information will be easy to find and you dont have to get passed all the childrens stuff to find it. Well done Rowly keep the good work up and if there is anything that you need help with just let me know, I hope this site becomes the site that everyone who has mito will look at and help in it development…..
